SUMMER STAFF

LIT

Age: 15-16 | 2 Sessions | Suggested Fee: $800 | Application Closes: Feb 29

Our Leader in Training Program is for students looking to try camp ministry for the first time. The focus is on learning to work with children, develop a base for your faith, lead camp activities, and learning to teach bible lessons. They will live at camp for all 4 weeks plus a training week at the end of June. Some of the LIT Program benefits include:

  • Pre-Summer LIT events and training

  • Daily teaching for the foundations of gospel-centered faith

  • 1 on 1 coaching and mentoring

  • Dedicated staff member for support and pastoral care

  • Full participation in our staff evening program

  • 2-4 sessions

Core is for students 16 years of age and older returning to CBC or coming for their first time with other experience working with kids. Core staff will mainly function in the Cabin Staff role. This means they will be assigned to a specific age group for each session and build relationships with the campers over their two week session. Cabin Staff will focus on being fun and a Godly example to the campers, as well as supporting the Cabin and Activity Leads when needed. Cabin Staff will do some "teaching" that consists mostly of bible story sharing.

  • 2-4 sessions

Lead Staff will be split into two roles: Cabin Lead and Activity Lead. Between these two roles will be the majority of the responsibility to ensure the camp day runs smoothly. Cabin Leads will be directly in charge of an age group, leading them from activity to activity, as well as leading different sections of the day such as Team Games or Chapel. Activity Leads will focus on background set up as well as teaching and acting in the play. Together, these two roles will work together to provide a safe and fun camp day for the campers.

  • 2-4 sessions

Lifeguards, Maintenance, and Kitchen staff are the three roles included in Support Staff. We invite students aged 15+ who want to be at camp, but maybe don’t want to work directly with kids or want to use other skills/certifications they have to apply for Support. Support Staff will be fully engaged in the evening program with other staff, they just have a different role during the camp day.

  • 4 sessions

Program Staff supports the staff in both the day camp program and by facilitating an evening program. The role is primarily mentorship and pastoral for the rest of the summer staff. The evening program will consist of teaching, small groups, fun activities, worship and general care.
