FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)

Allergies

Given the prevalence and seriousness of nut allergies, we are a nut-aware camp, so we ask that parents/guardians refrain from sending any nuts or peanuts in campers' lunches.

Buses

We ask that parent/guardians arrive at their camper's bus stop 10 minutes before the scheduled pick up and drop off times. Schedules will be confirmed via email the week before camp begins.

Closing Program

The closing program will be an opportunity for families to see what their campers have been up to during their session at camp! It will begin at 7:30, and campers can arrive at 7:00.
Below are the dates and locations for each closing program:
Session 1: July 13, 2023 at Lincoln Road Chapel
Session 2: July 27, 2023 at Wallenstein Bible Chapel
Session 3: August 10, 2023 at Woodside Bible Fellowship
Session 4: August 24, 2023 at Drayton Reformed Church

Memory Verses

Every day there will be a bible verse that matches the theme.  They can be recited for team points on the following day.  More importantly, scripture memorization is one of the ways that we can learn more about God!

Packing List

  • Yes, we encourage you to find the Session that fits your family. We do arrange buses to cover geographical areas, trying to keep children together, but you are welcome to arrange other transportation or select the area that is best for your family.

  • Yes, you can. If you make that work best for you and your family, we understand that. If it is a ‘different day’ for your child we ask you to please let us know so we can support the child in changing buses or waiting for pick up. [send a note, give us a phone call]

  • There is a camp ‘sign out’ sheet. Please try and let us know ahead of time so that we know something is changing from our regular schedule. You will need to sign your child in or out at camp.

  • Yes. Similar to school programs, please send a snack and lunch with your child. We have a water fountain for them to access, provide a drink at lunch, and we provide a drink and ‘treat’ at ‘free time’. They will store their lunch in the change rooms at camp.

  • Yes, there is. We have tried to make this as easy as possible for families so that all children have access to the camp. The camp has donors that want to help get kids to camp!

Send us an email letting us know you have registered your child/children for camp and have need.

We ask you to let us know what you can afford to put towards the camp fee.

We ask you to let us know if you have reached out to other churches/foundations/charities that have camper sponsorships available.

The camp will adjust your account for any sponsorship amount that is required.

  • Not usually. We try and make the bus stops as convenient for you as possible and as streamlined as we can. Occasionally we will have a number of new families in an area, so we may move or add a bus stop. If this does happen, we will email you with the changes and update our website.

  • We have a list on our website, but we encourage you to send: a water bottle; swimsuit and towel; clothes for the weather; sunscreen; lunch; sun hat.

Do not send electronics; important items that you don’t want lost (ex: bible, special towel, watch, jewelry); phones.

Note - some children will want to bring fishing gear, sports equipment, etc. We have this here, and they do not need to bring it with them. If they do bring it along, please make certain it is safe for travel on a school bus.

  • We are located about 5 minutes from Drayton, ON in the tiny hamlet of Hollen. Google Maps has us located properly. We advise that you access the camp using Hollen Road, off Sideroad 15.

  • Yes, we can give you and your child/children a tour around the camp. Give us a call or email and we can set up a time for a visit. We also host a Spring Open House. This is a free event and runs on the last Sunday of May each year.

  • Fees are due by May 31. You can pay in multiple ways - mail a check to 6791 Leslie Lane RR3 Moorefield ON N0G2K0; online through the registration portal with a credit card; or some people prefer to etransfer.
