About
CBC has long been known as the camp that is very difficult to get in to. Parents would have to fill out registration forms the first day they are available, only to hope that their children might get into camp. Having a huge waiting list of kids that want to be at CBC is something that excites us, but also made us very sad to see the large number of kids being turned away. Over the past number of years we have made it a priority to expand our registration, so that we can get as many kids as possible in to CBC each summer. Our registration has gone from roughly 180 to almost 300! We have maxed out our cabin space for staff, pushed our kitchen to the limits, and worked our septic system past its limits. This has been wonderful to see so many more kids coming to CBC, but we have encountered a number of challenges and road blocks on the journey.
First, the MOE (Ministry of Environment) has informed us that our septic system is too small for the capacity of our camp. So, we have been instructed to build a new one. This means finding land for it to go in, researching the type of system that best suits us, hiring an engineer to plan all the work, and raising funds to complete this massive job.

Second, our kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping facilities are old, outdated, and too small. We have about 80 staff sleeping at the camp on any given week in the summer. The old facilities that were built out of portables, to hold only 50 people, are just not cutting it anymore. You can see the main Manor building below, being transported and built, and how it looks today.
Over the last 5 years at CBC, 4 of the adjacent properties to the camp have come up for sale! We have stepped out in faith, year after year, and have been blessed with the ability to purchase 3 of them! They are highlighted below in white, red, and purple (that being the order they were purchased in). These properties are being used in these ways:
1) To expand our day camp programming activities to better serve the kids, and to bring more children to camp with more space for them to be. The first property that was purchased (highlighted in white in the top left) is a residence, archery range, survival skills area, and nature walk hiking trail. It has also provided some much needed storage space
2) The property outlined in red, gave us a location for our new septic system. This septic system is now the top of our list as the MOE is mandating its completion and we want to keep CBC running smoothly, and expanding
3) The property highlighted in purple has now given us an amazing location to build our much needed new manor. We will hopefully have room for a residence building with dining room, kitchen, and multi-purpose large space, all overlooking the entire camp

CBC has a lot of big dreams and hopes for the future. We have been following the doors that God has opened for us, and taken some big steps of faith to get through them. It has been really amazing to see Him open doors and close others on us, to make His plan clear. In order to continue with our journey, we need help from a lot of people. Whether it is through volunteering, praying, or donating, we need your help.
