Summer is coming!
We hope your children had as much fun as we did this past summer at Conestoga Bible Camp!
2017 was a fantastic year for CBC and we’re excited to already start planning for next year.

Although summer seems so far away, it always comes quickly, which is why we want to keep you up to date with what’s happening.  In order to operate most efficiently and effectively, there are a few changes for 2018 that are important to note.  Please take a few minutes to review the following items:

​2018 UPDATES

St. Jacobs joins Session 2 - July 16-27 
In an effort to better balance enrolment across all sessions, campers from St Jacobs will be switching to Session 2 starting 2018.  Session 2 runs between July 16-27.  The pick up / drop off point and times remain the same, which is the St. Jacobs Arena.  We hope this is not an inconvenience for your family and trust it will work when planning your summer schedule.

Enhanced CIT Program
CBC’s goal is to create an environment that quickly integrates our CIT's (Counsellors in Training) into the camp program and family. Our desire is to be more intentional with CIT development including their spiritual and activity skills.

To help accomplish this, we are making the following changes:
- Hiring a CIT director
- Focusing on skills and bible knowledge
- Having a July (session 1 & 2) and August (session 3 & 4) cohort.  This means CIT's will consecutively participate in either the first four weeks or the last four weeks of camp.

Also, to allow us to put more intentional resources and effort into the personal development of CIT's, starting in 2018 there will be an acceptance fee of $400 for those selected.  If you would like more information about this, please contact Terry Ruegg at 519-897-0036.

Dec 15, 2017 to Jan 31 2018
Staff and CIT application period.

Jan 13, 2018, 10 am – Noon:
CIT question period at Woodside Bible Fellowship.
Come and meet the Admin Team and Pastoral Team, ask questions about CIT program, learn about the shift from camper to staffer! 

Feb 19, 2018, Noon:
Camp registration opens!!!
Sign up for Day and Youth camp. We have increased Day Camp registration to 300 kids for 2018! Invite your friends!
 
May 27, 2018:
Community Spring BBQ at the camp.

Looking Ahead

New Septic Needed!
Ontario Ministry of Environment has issued new septic-sewage system requirements with mandated compliance and completion. Environmental studies, engineering and design costs are currently being incurred. Installation costs will also be required. We will be required to install a new septic within the next couple years, and this will cost the camp approximately $500,000.

Items Needed
We are often asked what the camp needs, other than monetary donations. Here is a list of some of our needs for 2018:

Convection Oven- Blodgett, Double size, Glass doors, Propane & Installed - $10,000

Pontoon Boat- 29-ft Princecraft, 16 seat, 90hp, includes trailer - $36,000

Other needs: Ventrac/Steiner Lawn Tractor, Sporting Goods, & a Pickup Truck or Minivan.
