Have you ever heard about the story of Jesus Christ? Some of you might have heard it before it’s also known as the Gospel or the Good News! If you have never heard about Jesus’ life, it’s a story like no other, full of shocking and amazing parts all for you and me!

To start off this wonderful year of 2017 I got to attend a young adults conference in the states called the Passion conference. It was an amazing time and I learned so much from all the people I met in my small group and from the speakers there. Louis Giglio, someone who runs the conference and spoke one morning, gave a talk I really enjoyed. He talked about how the cross is both devastating and beautiful.
The story of Jesus and the cross starts when God sent his one and only son Jesus to earth to come and redeem our sins; Jesus was sent here to fulfill a prophecy and ultimately save us. God did this all because he loves us with a love that lasts forever. Jesus one day would be crucified for our sins so that we may be forgiven, to save us and provide anyone who believed in him with everlasting life. During Louis’ sermon he referred to Jesus’ crucifixion as devastatingly beautiful. Devastating means to do damage to things or people that are impressive or attractive. Jesus’ crucifixion was filled with cruel events that included mocking, flogging, and being nailed to a cross. Just think, this is Jesus Christ. God’s son sent to save us. A perfect and sinless example. Someone who is so beautiful was put to death on the cross. A selfless sacrifice, that’s wonderful!
But, don’t worry it gets better! Three days later Jesus came alive again! From hanging on the cross and washing away our sins to coming alive again. The cross can now be seen as a devastatingly beautiful place where spiritually dead people can come to live a new life. The cross destroys sin, guilt, and shame all for you!

Boast in Jesus and the cross.
Now that you have heard about what Jesus has gone through and the beautiful things that are offered for sinners like you and I for the price of nothing, go and share it with others. Don’t settle or buy into the easiness of life, strive for more and the best. Boast in Jesus and the Cross.
Ephesians 3:14-19
"For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God."
Spreading the good news can be hard even with a close friend at school let alone a new friend. I know from experience as I am still struggling with sharing Jesus’ story now in college and I have been here for almost a year. Just remember all it takes is a little trust and guidance from the Lord.
Go out and show people that the cross and Jesus can be beautiful!
